In recent years, the production and quality of rubber sealing products in China have gradually entered a new stage and era. However, these alone are far from meeting the needs of other industries for the standardization and serialization of various rubber sealing products, especially compared with advanced international countries, China's products have a considerable gap in both product quality and variety. This issue of the Hundred Forum focuses on the concept, research content, and research significance of sealing, summarizes the current status of rubber sealing, mechanical sealing, and packing sealing technologies, analyzes the gap in research level and new product development ability between China and advanced and developed countries in sealing technology around the world, and puts forward several suggestions for the future research focus in the field of sealing in China.
